Volunteer

United Way of Trumbull County's mission to improve lives and strengthen communities is fueled by the passion and hard work of our volunteers. People are giving their time and talents to create

lasting solutions that improve life for everyone!

Volunteer Opportunities:

We care about your health and well-being.  If you are interested in volunteering at one of our partner agencies for any in-person essential services, please follow the guidance of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ohio Department of Health's best practices.  Individual activities are listed first followed by agencies in alphabetical order.     

American Red Cross

Blood Drive Volunteers:  Welcome and greet donors, escort as necessary and assist with initial intake of blood donation process.  (1 shift at 4-6 hrs a month)

 

Disaster Preparedness Volunteers:  Community Disaster Education Members, Home Fire Preparedness Team Members and Pillowcase Program Presenters.  (4 activities per year)

Disaster Action Team Volunteer: Serve those affected by disasters. (4 on-call 6 hr shifts)

Disaster Recovery Volunteer:  Conduct followup interviews for financial assistance and recovery plans. (1 shift at 3-7 hrs a week)

Family & Community Services

Volunteers are need to help strengthen, empower and enrich the lives of individuals and families through a broad continuum of services.  Family & Community Services provides food for the hungry, clothes for those in need, shelter for the homeless, counseling for individuals and families, guidance for the young and encouragement for the downtrodden.

Salvation Army

Volunteer Bellringers to help ring and encourage donations in the communities they serve.

WHEN:  Beginning soon through December 24, 2020.

WHERE:  Eastwood Mall and various shopping centers throughout Trumbull County.

Salvation Army

Volunteer for Emergency Disaster Services

WHEN:  There is a round-the-clock need for volunteers. Volunteers must meet the criteria listed on the webpage below.

WHERE:  Various locations and homes throughout Trumbull County.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Volunteers are needed to sort and re-box food in the warehouse, help in the office, answer phones, help with the newsletter or work on special projects like Taste of the Valley and Harvest for Hunger. 

WHEN:  AS NEEDED -   HOURS: Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to noon, Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Trumbull Mobile Meals

Trumbull Mobile Meals is in need of volunteer delivery drivers, packers and office support.
